What is Kwik?

Kwik is a Photoshop plugin that allows graphic designers, illustrators and well, really anyone to create rich interactive storybook apps in Photoshop for iOS and Android without knowing code.

What do I need to create my projects?

Kwik requires Adobe Photoshop CS5 and Corona SDK to create and preview projects. When ready to test or publish your projects to iOS devices (iPad, iPhone and iPod), you will also need the Apple developer tools (meaning you must be an iOS certified developer and pay the US$99/year fee). For Android devices, you need to be an Android (Google Play), Amazon and/or Nook certified developer in order to publish your apps.

Can I use the new free Corona Starter with Kwik?

Yes, Kwik is compatible with all Corona licensing options: Starter, Pro and Enterprise. Although Kwik does not make distinctions between Corona subscriptions, be aware that in-app purchase feature will only work with Pro and Enterprise versions.

I have Kwik 1 and I want to upgrade to Kwik 2. Can I?

Of course you can. Go to the Buy page and follow the instructions for your update.

What kinds of apps can I create with Kwik?

Kwik users have created several storybook apps, magazines, comics and even business applications. With Kwik 2, we expect to see games being created with the plugin as well, considering the ability of use physics into projects.

What is the list of features Kwik has today?

Kwik projects can contain audio, video, linear and path animations, movie clips, physics and dozens of event actions like go to page, play audio, play animation, etc.

What is the difference between linear and sprite sheet animation?

Linear animation is a simple way to move objects around the screen. Basically you inform where a layer object will move (X and Y) and the duration of the movement. Sprite sheets are files containing several poses of an element, enabling designers to create powerful and complex animations. The videos show how to use them.

How to create sprite sheet animations?

There are several tools dedicated to create sprite sheet available in the market. Kwik 2 integrates natively at this moment with Code’Web Texture Packer and Lanica’s Animo. However, for basic sheets, you can use the companion script which is installed with Kwik. Check the Creating Sprite Sheet video in the home page to lean how to create yours.

Can I use one license in multiple computers?

Kwik 2 allows you to use your activation key in up 2 machines. For price discount in multiple installations, feel free to contact us and ask for more info.

I do not have skills to publish apps by myself. Can you help me?

Is there a document to help me to build my projects for iOS and Android?

I can't make my Android version to work. Any ideas?

Can I add more interactions to my projects?

Besides the constant updates from Kwiksher, you are able to add your own Corona/Lua external code into your projects.

Can I create full apps with Kwik?

Yes. Although Kwik targets designers and illustrators working with comics, magazines and interactive books, if you are a developer (see next question), you can have benefits in using the plugin.

I am already a Corona developer. Why should I buy Kwik?

If you use Photoshop, Kwik will speed up your development flow, quickly exporting your project layers and pages, as well as adding the basic code for more complex projects. With that, you spend more time coding than positioning and exporting layers.

Can I use Kwik with other SDKs?

At this moment Kwik is compatible only with Corona.
